  1. Linda Wolf’s Doctoral Defense is on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 9:00 am in 414 WTH. Her dissertation title is: A Study of Socialization of Accelerated B.S.N. Graduates.

  2. Sorry this wasn’t posted earlier, but Matthew Broda defended his dissertation on Monday, June 18. I attended his presentation, and he did a wonderful job with his study that has great potential for future studies, and for teachers to explore their curriculum leadership skills. Hooray for Matt.

  3. Congratulations to Li-Chen Wang, C&I Early Childhood Education, and Jennifer Miller, C&I Middle Childhood Literacy for successfully defending their dissertations this past week.

If you are defending in the near future, or know someone who is defending, please let one of us know, so we can post the date, time and place on this blog page.

Attending a defense is a worthwhile experience. Not only are you supporting a doctoral colleague, but you can learn a great deal about their research.

  4. I agree that attending a dissertation defense is a highly worthwhile endeavor. I have attended one and intend to attend at least 1-2 more prior to my own defense! It is helpful to see the kinds of questions different committees ask during the defense.

  5. Mary Beth Rollick will be defencing on Oct 26 at 2:30 PM and Ryan Wooley will defend on Monday November 5 at 8 am.

  6. Sheri Leafgren successfully defended her dissertation, Reuben’s Fall: a rhizomatic analysis of moments of disobedience in kindergarten, October 23, 2007. Congratulations, Dr. Leafgren.
